WE'RE ALL ONE BIG FAMILY

Do chickens and turkeys and pigs and cows and lambs and sheep know instinctively when they are about to die for the good of man? Are fish aware when they sink their jaws into the piercing metal or become trapped in the fisherman's net that they will no longer ride the waves or bask in the sparkling sun, that they never again will spawn or travel in schools with their sisters and brothers?

Do deer or rabbits or ducks or geese or birds flying high in the sky realize at the blast of a bullet their role in nature's plan will come to an end? Does a lobster feel searing pain as it is immersed in boiling water by the lip-smacking lover of its succulent flesh? Do the busy bees or the industrious ants or the attacking mosquitoes sense impending doom ordained by the poisonous spray of man's creation?

Are pets aware of never awakening as they are placed in the execution chamber, no more to feel the warmth of their masters touch, never again to express their love or share the loneliness' of their two-legged companion, to be removed from life because there are too many of them and too few of us?

Do trees and flowers and their garden neighbors who live on Mother's Earth feel the woodman's axe or the gardener's shears or the lawnmower's blade? Do all these creatures of creation share the same pain as God's two-legged children? Are not we and they truly members of the same family?
